You know, I recently found out that I have the best bunch of friends in the whole wide world! I was getting so worried because the office I work in is moving to a smaller office space. Since it’s a small office, we juggle multi-tasking a lot. I was assigned to map out the positioning of the furniture. It was very hard because we have bulky office furniture. I don’t even have any background in interior design. When I told my friends about it over beer, they laughed at me saying that there is modular office furniture that I can use to replace old cubicles. I told my boss about it and she says it’s okay. She also agreed to hire a freelance interior designer.

One of my close college buddies has set up a small company with his partners. He wanted meto join the team as one of their corporate communications heads. After several meetings, I finally agreed to his offer. He said he needs to warn me a little because his office is a lot smaller than what I am used to. On my first day, I was really expecting that the office would be a little cramped. I was surprised to see that it was not what I imagined it to be. The staff use modular office furniture pieces so the space was really maximized. Even my small office doesn’t look small at all. His interior designer made a good job.

The boss and the manager announced that we won’t be having office work for the week. They said they finally decided to give the office a much-needed renovation. So, we got a paid vacation. After a week, we were astonished to find a good-looking office. Our cubicles were replaced with modular office furniture so there is more room to walk around the office now. The colors were really cozy and energetic. The new reception area is so picture perfect that we couldn’t resist taking souvenir shots there. We were so excited that we forgot to thank the boss. But anyway, he says he should be thanking us with all our hard work.

I’m a freelance interior designer. Recently, I got this project for a small office. I went to my favorite supplier and placed my orders of lamps, modular office furniture and some decorative paintings. Everything was going smoothly until one of the sales person showed me stocks of new items that they have. I was so tempted to replace the ones I initially ordered. I guessed the artist in me is seeing a better design. However, I finally got out of it when I learned of the price. The rates were way off the budget of my client. Money really kicks people out of hallucinations.

It’s a great relief that our business is expanding this year. Honestly, we didn’t really expect it because of all this fuss on the economic downturn. However, this does not mean that we can splurge on stuff. Now, that we are moving to a bigger office, we need to be wiser and practical. We called a new interior designer to have her look at our present office. We made it clear that we wanted to use at least 90% of all the stuff that we have now. She says it would be easy since we’re using modular office furniture. She could just base her designs on the expansion of the modular sets.

A friend recommended me to a businessman who would be putting up a new office in a few months. The guy was really great except that he really has lots of expectations. He wanted me to convert his small office space into something functional and yet dazzling—interior-wise. It won’t be that a problem if his office weren’t small! Good thing I saw this modular office furniture sets when I was browsing for materials to use. It’ll definitely give me a lot of space to move around with designing. I opted to use a minimalist theme so that the client would feel that his office becomes bigger.

The office we are going to have has very limited space. So, as much as possible, I asked my interior designer to use modular office furniture in his designs. I also inquired about the possibility of getting multifunctional rooms and spaces. We will be banking on a contemporary theme so I think that would perfectly do. I do not want my employees feeling cramped in the office. I think that more than anything else, the ambience of the workplace must be flawless. Otherwise, it will just be a source of negative vibes. I don’t want that in my own business.
