Home Decorating and Interior Design Ideas

And where can someone usually get a hold of one? I am just a regular saudi citizen with no contacts in the interior design world. Do I just go to a "decor" office? I am not sure about their prices. If any one can recommend anything or has an idea of price ranges, please answer here.

There no specific price for a session of interior consulting may be we could call that I a site visit instead of a session. But the price can range on the size of the office and the size of the room you are planning to design, but it should exceed the 500SR/ visit.
Yes I agree with you where can someone usually get a hold of one? That is a serious problem. But may be you could call architectural offices not "decor" offices and ask them ONLY to recommend an interior designer. If they say that they can do the job for you, then you should ask them to show you their portfolio of their previous interior works.
1.I also recommend that you could do the job as a full package, which much simpler and with nicer result, for sure I can do the job for you through the e-mail with and once all information is provided.
2.Also you can refer to these guys to help you; just post your request and I am sure they will try hared to provide you with the right information;

3.Finally, you could use this room as an exercise for you to show some of the talent you have, by referring to these very informative site about interior design, and try your best. I am sure the result is going to be beautiful.

Bathroom Decorations – Tips On How To Get Started

Posted by Jade Martins on Feb-13-2010

If you want to redecorate your house there are many things that you can do. What happens though if you want to redecorate your bathroom? It’s not as tough as you might think and there are rather a few things you can do to change your existent bathroom decor to something newer and more upbeat. And it doesn’t need to be expensive either. Lets take a look at a few things that will get you started.

You can get a good looking bathroom even if you are on a tight budget. You will inevitably need to cut a few corners but they won’t need to be drastic or anything too dramatic. One of the best n-ways to boost your john if you’re on a tight budget will be to go at it slowly. Take it a piece at a time or even a particular set at a time and change your old bathroom decor to suit your new bathroom decor. This also provides you the time to ponder, research ideas and evaluate your ideas.

The problem with that though, is that you might not get to see a striking change taking place, alternatively you’ll have a gradual change which can be rather unsatisfactory sometimes. So another thing you can do would be to change more or less the whole of your bathroom decor all at once. This can be more comforting to the individual and can brighten your day considerably when you see the changes that have been wrought. Of course if your budget allows this kind of activity.

The best place to start though, whether you’re on a awful budget or not, is by fetching the time to sit back and think about what you want changed about your bathroom decor. Unless you’re amply redesigning your bathroom then it’s almost a presumption that you won’t change around any of the fittings. So if you have decide not to re-design, your next need is to decide what it is about your old bathroom decor that you disfavor so much and what it is that you want to change.

This process, many times, can be the longest. Because it requires you to think, imagine and visualize what you see unsuitable in your bathroom. Trust me, once this process is done you will be happy you did it. when in this process be sure to document and take notes so you can refer to them later. This way you aren’t shooting from the hip. We all know what happens when we do this. We buy things we think we like, out of impulse, and later realize it really isn’t what we wanted.

This might not be as easygoing as you think as not everything is physical at first glance. That’s why you need to sit back and take a good hard look at what you need to do about your bathroom decor. To get the best effect let’s start with the walls. Does it need a fresh work of paint or can you get away with a few strategically located pictures and prints.

If you have a rain shower drapery does that need to be replaced, and what about the rugs and mats as such? Another good place for you to start is with a color intrigue in mind. If you can settle down on what you want your bathroom to look like in the last analysis – inside rationality of course – then you can proceed from there.

Now if all of this seems overwhelming to your, don’t worry. Research, understand and learn the fundamental concepts of interior design and decorating. With this knowledge you will feel confident in your approach. Also, let me clarify here – I am not talking about a 4 year degree. I am talking about the fundamentals to boost your confidence to get started. So, let us wrap up with a knick knacks.

A few knick knacks here and there which will enhance your lavatory should do the trick. Intersperse them with a few expensive cardinal pieces and your new bathroom decor should be all that you could want or need. Please, don’t go crazy with the knick knacks. If you feel it is too much, then I would say it is too much.

INTERIOR DECOR in london?

Posted by Jade Martins on Feb-11-2010

Are there good job prospects in the field of Interior Decorating and which Universities do you recommend??

p.s. interior DECOR NoT Design thank u.. (its just sum people make that mistake)

I’m not sure what distinction you’re drawing between Interior Design and Interior Decor, but so far as I can see no University in Britain offers a course in Interior Decor, while there are a lot in Interior Design (and they may well cover what you want to learn).

What I’d suggest:

First have a look at the ucas (admissions service) website and do a search to find where courses are available.

www.ucas.ac.uk

Some of these institutions will be in London; whenever you find one, have a look at their website for more info on the course they offer and what it covers. I’m afraid I don’t know personally what any of the courses are like, but you’ll know bes what’ll suit you.

Good luck with your studies!

I’m doing a project for a summer interior design class, using decor from other countries and using different styles. What do interiors of regular living rooms and bedrooms look like in england? Basically, how do you all decorate and what’s typically found in your bedrooms and living spaces? I know all the regular things, that might have been a silly question… But what would you call the style and colors?

Thanks so much for any help.

personally I like the Scandinavian style … I’ve got wood laminate floor in maple (a pale wood colour), reasonably minimal furniture mostly in birch (another pale wood colour) … I don’t like dark wood colours because it feels too heavy and makes the rooms feel smaller … where I differ from Scandinavian style is that I don’t like their strong colours and fabric designs … I go for wood rather than black or white or anything … on the walls I’ve gone for pastel colours, pale pink, dusty pink, light green, pale lilac, but they’re all colours rather than what I call non-colours of beige, grey, etc … for pictures I’ve framed some of my own photos, plus my (very artistic) daughter’s work … have a look through the IKEA catalogue and you’ll get an idea of what I mean http://ikeaeu.ecweb.is/09/mgb/

Interior design wall decor centering question :)?

Posted by Jade Martins on Feb-5-2010

In my bedroom, I have the bed almost centered on the wall but more to the right a little bit (to allow for a bookcase which I have in the corner to fit). I’m hanging one wall decor piece (a wrought iron candelabra) on the wall with a wall sconce on each side of it (so 3 pieces on the wall). My question is: Do I center these with the my bed, or with the wall? Thanks. :)

The bed is the focal point of any bedroom, so center your sconces with the bed. To help with the imbalance, hang a picture or use a plant with the same height as your bookshelf on the other side of the bed. Perfect!
