Alcove beds are a rare anomaly. They can’t really be bought. You need to use the power of renovation to build them. Yet… They are worth all that trouble. Luxurious hole-in-the-walls that exude all manner of sensual feeling. Plus, you’ll be in good company as well, since Thomas Jefferson has one. Apartment Therapy’s extensive overview of all kinds of Alcove beds is worth a read:
Scanning our analytics and seeing what you like to read about, I noticed that alcove beds are a secret delight (and highly ranked). They’re an unusual addiction as well, since you can’t buy one — you have to build it. Here, then, is a big hit of sweet alcove beds to settle your system. Enjoy!

ok, so anyone who is experienced in architectural software, im looking for software in which i can design my dream home, and even decorate the interior and exterior, anyone have experience? if so, please share, i dont want to buy a really bad one where it doesnt do much good. thanks
Of course this will be my own Extremly biased opinion but oh well, here goes. I think google sketchup7 is the best because you can measure stuff, create infinite storys, and even create your own furniture. Unfortanatly it is extremly difficult. I forgot the name of this good one, but it’s limited to 2 stories. What I would do would be talk to some professional archtechts, ask them what program they use and tell them your situation. They’ll have a couple good ones for you, and you can claim you talked to an architecht. It may not sound really cool if you think about it, but if you say it really fast to your friends maybe.. but oh well! I know another REALLY good one too.. Its called pen and paper
lol really im not kidding. But theres my choices from an architecht wana be so, there ya go!

I’m looking for a nice 3d home design software which is also easy to use to build a virtual home design, any suggestions/answer would be appreciated, thank you.
Envisioneer Express is an excellent 3D Home Design Software, to do small interior design projects or check how the furniture is going to look like in your newly bought home. All you have to do is design the basic structure including external and internal walls, set room divisions and insert windows and doors.

I have some architectural training, am a graphic designer and wish to draw my own plans for an addition and new dormer for my home.
Google Sketchup is an easy-to-use 3D modeling software that enables you to create 3D models of houses, buildings and many other objects, using an array of drag and drop tools and materials in a WYSIWYG editing environment. You can design your objects with rectangles, circles, ovals, arcs, lines and freehand drawings, and use a unique push/pull tool to add dimension to 2D objects….etc.
Freeware.

I have some architectural training, am a graphic designer and wish to draw my own plans for an addition and new dormer for my home. I would like to try colors out in the rooms, play around etc.
It has been some time. Years ago I used Vectorworks and Autocad. I wish to use something more simple and more designed for the homeowner.
Thanks
