Lighting a living evergreen tree for Christmas?

Posted by Jade Martins on Jan-18-2011

I have a big poofy evergreen tree in my backyard that would look amazing if it had lights on it (it even looks like a Christmas tree too! except is extremely big) I would like to string some C9 lights around the tree, but I am concerned about fire hazards. what should i do?

It wont burn your tree!

For example, should they ban …: red and green crayons during the month of December, Christmas lights, the saying ‘Merry Christmas’, and Christmas trees??

thanks for your input.
What’s your opinion of this?

yeah, and while they’re at it, get rid of orange and black in october, the color pink in february, and ban the word ‘turkey’ from being said in november.

is it too early to put up xmas decorations?

Posted by Jade Martins on Jan-15-2011

my children are really excited, is it too soon?

Most people start putting Christmas decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. Some people put them up before Thanksgiving. So, no it’s not too early….HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

The longest time to leave Christmas decor up to is to January 7th.

Home made Christmas tree ornaments?

Posted by Jade Martins on Jan-12-2011

Ok I am looking to make some homemade christmas tree ornaments. I want them to be cheap and home made. Some thing a 11 year old child can make and that hardens quickly. Please give me CHEAP easy christmas tree ornaments i can make out of stuff from the house and I can bake them so…

try dipping pine cones in glue then sprinkling them with glitter then you take a pipe cleaner and twist it around the top to make the hook or you could use felt to make stars or bells ar angels and again use pipe cleaners as hooks. you can also buy kits at arts stores like michaels, joanns, or hobby lobby.

I am trying to find information about how to care for and maintain the light up christmas/yule decorations that move. I want to make sure I take care of the motors properly & or can replace them. Links? Suggestions? They were kinda spendy and I want to make sure I don’t waste money having to buy them again!

After you unplug them, give to motor time to cool down (since its probably been running for most of the season).
And then i just fold it up and place it back in the box..

Two days before New Years Eve..
