My father and I decided on doing some revamp on our furniture in the house. We got up in the attic and looked at some items we can start with. We got all thrilled with our old cot bed mattress and cot bed frame. We turned it into a small couch for the patio. My father was really smiling when we were lining up patterns for the new couch. He says the cot mattress was the one they bought when I was still a baby. The foam is still firm and I really think I would last us another two years or so.

Have you ever head the saying that people go back to the fetus position when they are sad? It’s because it is when we feel most warm and cozy? I think that’s true. In my case, I don’t curl in the fetus position. I go up in our attic and pull out my cot bed mattress I use when I was a kid. I just lie in there even if my feet are way pass the mattress. I know it’s just a psychological thing but it is undoubtedly my security mattress. I hope it will stay with me that way.

We set out part of our savings to give our house a little remodeling. We went to the stores this weekend and took home a lot of stuff. This week, we eased in the old items to give way to our new ones. We started in the bedrooms. We replaced the kids’ cot to a good luxury mattress to give them more comfort. We also replaced their princess dresser with a classic one. Bigger ones also replaced the couches on the living room. The kitchen counter is under the works. You can just imagine how may items are lined up for our garage sale next week.

Our son Railey is growing up fast. At 5, he thinks he is already a ‘man’. I don’t have any idea where got that kind of philosophy. I just noticed that he doesn’t play with his little toys anymore. When I asked, he was so shocked. “Mom??!! I’m big now!” My mom who was visiting us that time could not contain her amused laugh. The next day, Railey pulled me out of my chores to his bedroom. He removed his bedsheet and pointed to his cot bed mattress “Mom, it’s time you buy me a real bed.” I just smiled and agreed.

My daughter Leila will give birth to our first ever grandchild! My husband and I were really doting grandparents. As a matter of fact, I shopped for several gifts we plan to drive out to Leila over the weekend. I bout a very good cot bed mattress, blankets, baby clothes and socks. I also bought Leila a good bag organizer she’ll definitely need. Oh, I’d love to see my grandson! With all the love ready to be given to him, I surely hope he grows up really well. It makes me wonder who will he take on!
