My mom’s small inn is up for a renovation next week. So, we had to be there just to ensure that she has help whenever she needs it. I drove in early to the inn yesterday and was caught by surprise. There were a lot of bed headboards in the reception area of the inn. The small conference room became the storage of bed frames. I got so curious because I can’t find the logic of separating the bed headboards from the frame. It turns out, my mom is having them re varnished and probably do some carvings to make them look new.

I have a long time girlfriend whom I have proposed. Well, she’s my wife now. It’s almost a month since we got married. You know the saying that you only get to know your love only when you are married? I think that’s true. Last week, she told me that she we need to buy a new bed even if she pays for it. I asked her why and found that she doesn’t want iron bed headboards. She is just not comfortable. She also likes to buy two more pillows even if we don’t have any more room in the bed.

I watched this do it yourself video of bed headboards on You Tube last week. After that, I think I got obsessed with the idea of changing my bed headboards. I looked up several articles that would show me how to actually do it. Good thing I ended up with a few good ones. Yesterday, I finally got to put all that knowledge to good use. I designed my own bed headboard. I initially wanted a bed headboard with wood carvings but settled on a foamed design. My wife picked out the fabric I used for covering the foam. The project went well. I hope it is as sturdy as I hope it would be.

I always envy bed headboards that have foams. The one we have at home is made of solid wood. Yes, it is very sturdy but sometimes I bump my head in it when I sleep. My husband must have probably been noticing my affixation with foamed bed headboards. Yesterday, I went out early for work. I called him up at his office when I was about to get home and found that he took the day off. I went straight home just to find him installing a new foamed bed headboard to our bed. Apparently, it’s a surprise early birthday gift. That’s so sweet of him.

My childhood friend’s family would be moving to a new city tomorrow. She told me that they would be packing their whole house and probably would need help. Yesterday, I came up to their house to see what I can do. They were in the middle of removing their bed headboards to fold the frame to the truck tomorrow. Her mom, who has treated me like her own son, told me that I could probably help move some heavy stuff. Kelly is an only child. His old dad is the only man in the house so I guess they need help in that department. I’m sad they’re moving but I know I could still count on my best friend.

We went to the town’s carpenter shop to look for a good bed frame. My cousin wants to know how much would it cost him to have a bed frame made especially for his house. We were treated to a lot of bed headboards and bed frames designs by the carpenter. The prices, to our relief, is very reasonable. The carpenter even offered a guarantee for the quality of workmanship. He even told us the kind of wood that would best suit my cousin’s lifestyle and body weight. I guess the carpenter wouldn’t be the town’s favorite for nothing.
