I have an outdoor light fixture at the door leading to a covered porch. The porch was added on, and now has overhead lighting, so the old light fixture at the door is never used. I would like to install string lights (or christmas lights) around the interior perimeter of the porch for soft year round lighting and wondering if I could wire them directly into the old light fixture so that I may operate them with the existing light switch. I would be removing the old light fixture.
You can go to the hardware store and buy an adaptor that goes in to the light socket this adaptor has a plug in on it that turns the light in to plug. Please don’t wire your lights direct! Doing that may cost you alot more the a $10.00 adaptor! I don’t know much about ele. wiring, but I do know this much..By the way the switch will still turn on and off your lights.

Ok, so I’m putting up Christmas lights and so far am only using one circuit, it’s a 15a piggyback breaker. So far my count looks like this:
4650 .41 watt mini lights
50 5 watt C9s
That’s around 2150 watts and I have yet to flip the breaker, any idea why? Also it is going through a timer which has a 15amp breaker in it, and there’s a GFCI on the circuit, thanks in advance.
Some times what is on paper has little to do with reality. Using a digital (accurate) amp clamp, what is the actual constant load on the circuit? What is your actual voltage on the circuit? And also it is not unusual for a 15 amp circuit breaker to hold 18 amps. It depends on how much heat and dissipation is present in the panel. Before getting to excited, be aware that a #14 wire can handle 20 amps of current with no degradation of it’s insulation at all. Now you know why. On the other hand if you have a Federal Pacific breaker, they are known to fail to trip until the house burns down.

My mother said she remembers listening to an old Christmas album/record with artists Brenda Lee and Burl Ives with others she can’t remember and that the cover art in the front or back had the different artists faces in christmas ornaments. Could someone please help me identify this album/record? I would really like to find it for my mom for christmas!
Will I have a CD collection with both those artists on it. At K-mart I found a CD called Santa’s Top 10 Favorites with the following singers for only $5.00:
The Little Drummer Boy – Harry Simeone Chorale
White Christmas – Bing Crosby
Rockin Around The Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee
Jingle Bell Rock – Bobby Helm
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas – Judy Garland
A Holly Jolly Christmas – Burl Ives
I’ll Be Home For Christmas – Pat Boone

whats christmasy about a train? is there a story behind it?
Trains are just something that young boys want for Christmas. Apart from that the joy of seeing a big steam train thundering along a snow bound scene belching out smoke and steam, the roaring glow of the firebox, the smell of coal and wood burning. All bring back race memories of a simpler time.

hi. can you give me good and unique christmas decor made out of recycled materials? thanks
Cut out pics on old Christmas cards–staple to a paper plate that you cut a hole in the middle of–voila, a unique wreath. Add ribbon at the top to hang if you do double-sided, or tape to a window or wall. Easy for kids to do.
Also, shake acrylic paints in glass balls or glass bottles–swirl around different colors–creates look of handpainted or handblown glass but paint is inside. In glass balls–dry upside down in paper/plastic cups.

I am looking for a website that has a lot of "how to" tips on how to decorate the interior of homes. Lots of pictures of rooms, paint color options that look good together, etc. On the line of design… such as that of Pottery Barn or like that of how they design on the show Extreme Home Makeovers. I am sick of looking at white walls. I like contemporary, unique and cozy. We are a young couple, so we would like our home to look cool. I live in a small town, so the closest store for decorating is Walmart. I need something that will help me add style and coordinate. Otherwise I buy a whole bunch of stuff that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense and I can never come up with any colors I like, that I won’t want to change! Please help!
I find gobs of great ideas on HGTV.com so just go there and check it out, hope this helps. also Martha Stewart’s web site, is great.
