I need websites with pictures of christmas tree decorations and if it possible with tips to decor a christmas tree, but i’m more interested in the pics. thanks.
Hi!
I have to say that I now cheat and have a 12 foot PRE-LIT tree. It saves time and has over 1,000 lights perfectly placed. I decorate my tree in all white, gold, silver and clear glass ornaments. Makes for a striking look with all the white lights behind it.
Here are some sites:

There is a variety for you. I do suggest going to the library and looking at their Nov/Dec Better Homes, Martha Stewart, etc…mags over the last 10 years for some great ideas.
Best to you!!
My husband and I are closing on a home in 2 weeks, and I’m trying to figure out how to decorate the living area. It’s an odd, small area – Walk in the front door and its an oversize hallway more or less as the living room that L shapes to a small dining area that L shapes again to a dead end kitchen. So like a U shape with a wall between the kitchen and the living area.
It has light colored pergo flooring, and no high ceilings or skylights. And there is a pellet stove in the corner of the living area.
Since we wont have exra money, we have to keep our current furniture for the time being, which includes my husbands black leather couch and love seat.
The dining area and kitchen are going to have black wrought iron pieces (table/chairs and wall mounted pot rack).
With this information, do you have any tips on interior decoration? I need things to help make the room seem bigger, and tips on colors when our furniture is black and floor is light wood.
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
You should paint the whole area one color and make sure the color coordinates well with the kitchen. Lighter colors are better since they make small rooms bigger, but some median tones can work too. The precise color of the flooring and the kitchen cabinets matters.
Ideas:
Putnam Ivory
Tea Room
Squire Hill Bluff
Atmospheric
Pale Avocado
Soft Beige
Jicama
Abalone
I would definitely get a big black mirror to hang over the sofa. It will make the room look bigger. Something like these http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10121252 http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00081591
The proportions should be similar to this http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3207/2966948346_2e7652379d_o.jpg
Window treatments are a toughie- the sofa is black but black curtains are really heavy. I would probably pick a print based on the paint color. Something like one of these: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00160197 http://www.westelm.com/products/r801/?pkey=cwindow-panels-curtains-shades (this would only work with the grey or rose walls) http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=1288&f=26869 (would work with the beige walls) Pick your paint and curtains together. The same color two shades darker would also work for curtains.
I’m looking for urban outfitters type stuff for my home. Preferably online, because we have nothing here. And I would like it to not be expensive. I feel like my house has a lot of bare walls and I need to decorate. I’m kind of a fan of the wall decals too, those are cool. HELP!
I’m not sure if you would consider pieces of furniture as art, but there are some really great cabinets that host your TV and some of the designs are so beautiful at ImportAdvantage.com They have rather larger pieces that could easily fill up a room, create a statement and could really make the space cozier. If you have a flat screen TV that you would like to display in the most presentable way possible, check out the TV cabinets at, http://www.importadvantage.com/ I’m actually waiting to order a TV cabinet for my own home and I haven’t decided on one particular, but I think this piece is gorgeous, http://www.importadvantage.com/Craftsman-62 I love the country feel the piece has and the light wood stain.
Hope this helps!
My niece is being christened on Sat. May 26th and afterwords there will be a dinner at the home of my sister’s in-laws. My sister has asked me to bake and decorate a cake for the occasion and I am not sure what to decoarate it with. (This is MUCH easier to bake a cake for a b-day party–where there is a theme)
I think you should bake a cake and cover it with white icing, then decorate it whit a baby theme.
Here are some websites that maybe you can get some ideas from:

They have very nice cakes that can be duplicated, and still look nice. You can use their decorating ideas. ![]()
Good luck and happy christening to your niece (if that makes any sense)
I recently quit my job so I could go back to school. I have next to zero funds. I find myself feeling blah and having no energy at home. Actually, it doesn’t even feel like home. I know that this is partly to due to asthetics. Due to that job, which consumed my life for 3 years, I never had time to decorate. I’m too…well, yucky feeling, to be creative anymore. I think I need some ideas to decorate, cheaply, so that my surroundings make me feel a little more …at home. Then maybe the rest will come. Here’s a bit of info about my apartment:
It’s very small. small bathroom with no shelves and just a sink with nothing under it, toilet and bath/shower. Only a small mirrored medicine cabinet. White walls, gry/wht floor. Silver towel bars and faucets. Very very small. small bedroom, blue carpet gry/wht panneling on walls. livingroom kitchen only seperated by a low counter. same walls and floor in lroom as bdrm. ktchn & bthrm same floors. please help. pics? details?
Can you paint in there? Paint is relatively cheap and easy to do and color can brighten up the place a lot! Also small throw pillows add color (you can sew them out of old clothes that don’t fit you any more?). curtains are easy to make too, and material doesn’t have to cost a lot.
Also, hang up pictures of your loved ones – that always makes a place feel like home!
Good luck to you and SMILE! your place will feel like home in no time.
I have made 4 friends at my new school. I know my birthday isn’t until May but I want to pick what I should do for my birthday.
Most of the children (friends included) come from low income family’s can’t afford a shopping party or can give me a gift BUT I am ok with that ![]()
My friends are girls of all different ages.
One is in 8th maybe 9th grade.
2 of them are in 6th.
2 others are in 10th grade.
They are all my friends and we all get along well together.
Their will be me and them at my party. Which makes 6 of us girls.
I live in south Florida and I have a few options in my home town and towns around.
Some of my options are
Spa Day – at WoodHouse Day Spa ~ it is very near our school and my mom could pick us up from school and take us there (because most of the girls don’t have rides)
Beach Party – I’m not the most appealing thing in a bathing suite and the other girls are. But also what would we do at the beach? There is a place to eat cake but that would be GRRROOSSSS and why would we go to the beach after school on a Friday that is something you do on the weekend here.
Ceramics – but the thing about ceramics is that we have to pay for everything ~ the ceramic thing the cake the pizza or food AND then what do I do after ward ? Have a sleepover at a hotel ? my house can’t hold all of us
Hotel Party – have all the girls bring clothes and a bathing suite and robe and slippers and have an amazing slumber party with junk food and a room decorated with favors.
the last thing I could even think of is taking the girls to an amusement park like disney or epcot?
Spend the weekend at a hotel like nickoloden resort or laki tiki?
I just don’t know what to do or where we should go ?
If we spend 2 days in a resort we could get room service and go get our nails done but like I said thats all on me and my family (the money)
So please help me
I want to make invitations and order personalized party favors and have my cake designed special
but everything is so much money
Please HELP ME find a good median between all my ideas and problems
