In other words, if Target or Kmart had a Nativity, would you not shop there? Or this, what if your holiday party at work had some Christian types of theme? Would you think it overbearing?

So, what you are asking is are ppl offended by all this talk about this Jesus guy at Christmas time? Sadly, some ppl are. In the 1980s, the city of Providence RI defended itself all the way to the US supreme ct when it got sued by someone for having a nativity scene on city property. The city won the battle (the supreme ct ruled that the nativity scene was an American tradition and not promotion of religion) but despite that ruling, ppl have been too scared to put out a nativity scene. It’s gotten so bad that one business threw a "winter dance party" bc they were apparently too scared to say "Christmas party" or "holiday party." I really think it’s hokey when ppl say "holiday carols" and all the carols sung are actually Christmas carols. Merry Christmas!

I would probably still shop at the store, but it would make me a little uncomfortable. I believe in the Bible, but it doesn’t seem right to me to have religious decor in public places where people of all religions tend to do their shopping. At work, I would probably not go to the party because if there is religious decor, there’s a possibility I might have to participate in something religion-based. There would be too much uncertainty for me to go.

Not overbearing at all. I don’t think there is enough Christ in Christmas nowadays. That is what the holiday is all about. If Jesus were never born, there wouldn’t be a Christmas. People tend to forget that so much … even us Christians. It has become so commercial, so buy, buy, buy … that we don’t remember the REAL reason for the Season.

No. I am a Christian, so it wouldn’t bother me. Just as when I spent some time in Iran some 50 years ago, their Muslim practices didn’t bother me. I was a visitor to their country so why should I let their religious practices bother me.

So likewise, if those who come to this country see something re Christmas and it is not their religion, it shouldn’t bother them especially if they have become citizens of this country. .

Decorations and such are part of the Christmas spirit. To forbid or criticize these decorations is religious persecution or discrimination, which is unconstitutional. Anyone can think what they want of course, but if anyone lets the things you mentioned bother them, then that’s their problem.

Christmas IS a Christian HOLY day!!!
If Target and Kmart and WalMart would quit trying to extend the HOLYday all the way to July 4 it would help a lot!

I would be totally offended if they didn’t have Christian themes at Christmas parties!

If people don’t want to celebrate Christmas and Easter that is their privelege!! Just let the rest of us celebrate and do it publicly.

The constitution says: the government shall make NO laws reguarding religion.

No. It has been A TRADITION for years. Now that other denominations have grown in celebrating their holiday, I find none of them offensive.
