How can I decorate a small home without making it look so plain and empty?

My boyfriend just bought a house for us and it is sort of a cabin style house I guess you would say. It is just very small so I’m not sure where I can put decorations to make it look nicer. The people that lived there before didn’t care about what it looked like at all. Is there a website I can go to where I can design something? I tried a few places, but all it did was give the option to design flooring and wall covering. We already have those and all the furniture.

For a cabin feel you could add rustic wall art, decor, a warm throw and rug.

    First thing you want to do is pick out some paint colors and paint. Make all your trim a white semii gloss, then purchase some throw pillows, inexpensive vases, candles, etc.

    wall decor and something that is hanging is probably helpful so that it will not occupy so much space.
