Decorating help ideas needed?

I am presently living in a rental home. I would like some ideas on decorating it. B/c it is rental I don’t want to spend a lot of $$ However I want a designer look. I would like for it to be bright /bold in color with a twist of whisical or funky type design I love to use ribbon as accents. I am looking first for ideas for the kitchen. It has a buttery cream walls and the cabinets are white with a light tan for the countertop and floor it has 3 windows and a half glass at the door so it is light and airy. give me some ideas please also I would like to carry the theme on into the adjoining living room which has the same color walls and light off white carpet. Be creative but remember designer look on low budget. Thanks.

Ask your landlord if he’ll let you do any painting on the walls. If not your best bet is to look at places like TJ Max or Marshall’s for bright-colored, funky dishes and accents for the kitchen. They have a lot of nice stuff for every room in lots of bright colors and designs and everything is at a discounted price. And if anything has a slight flaw in it you can talk the price down even more. They even have big pictures for cheap if your not able to change the color of the walls. If you can paint, Wal-Mart’s Color Place paint is great and very cheap-usually around $8 a gallon!
