and also were going to have the reception in her mothers backyard so how should we decorate being beachy? with like seashells and such?
any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated =]
Beach weddings occur in Florida 365 days a week, and one of the most popular times is November through April. It may be a little cooler in northern Florida but you can still have an outdoor wedding there. If you wish to decorate, you can’t go wrong with an assortment of seashells . . artifical palm trees or real potted plants . . potted orchid plants or tropical flowers . . beach sand in glass containers with a candle in the center and fish (small and colorful).

You’re always taking a chance with an outdoor wedding, but the odds are it will be warm enough, especially if you have it in the early afternoon. Whatever you do have a backup plan. You could check out the Don Cesar Hotel http://www.doncesar.com/ It’s very beautiful and it’s right on the water. You could arrange to have your reception there and in case of rain or cold, you could have the wedding in the reception hall.

Honestly, I think December will be a little too cold for a beach wedding. It will be windy and chilly, which would make it very difficult to come up with some attire that is beachy and yet still keeps you warm….

I live in central Florida and think December is perfect for a beach wedding. It is usually fairly warm , but not hot. So you won’t sweat.
Plus, rain chances in December are pretty low. It is June- September when we get a lot of rain.
St. Pete is beautiful since you can get the sunset.
I would decorate with shells and starfish, maybe aqua and beach balls.
