Home Decorating and Interior Design Ideas

Anybody know of any cute ideas to make tree ornaments, something fairly easy my daughter is 4 years old. But I will be helping her. Thanks

We like to use pinecones decorated with glitter glue and other shiny things. Also pipe cleaner antlers on candy canes and glued on "googly" eyes to make reindeer.

One thing that’s really easy would be making a paper chain. Just cut the paper into strips and tape then into circles, linking them together. If you forget, you can always tear it and tape them up together.

It should be relatively easy for her and probably won’t require too much supervision. You can hang the paper chains on the tree, outside your door, weave them between the stairs, around columns, etc.

    Have fun!

Just did a search and found in the answer to another question the recipe I was looking for – baked bread ornaments. My kids are in their 20′s now and I still have the ones they made in kindergarten.

Have a look at the best answer in the link below.

metal hangers, cut them to how ever long you want.

get red, green, and white beads.

fold up one side of the hanger enough as to not let any beads fall off

bend the hanger into a candy cane shape

then start putting the beads on., leave enough room at the end to fold it up just as the bottom was

I used to make sugar cookies with my grandmother. You spend time together, mix it up and shape it with cutters like trees, santa, etc. Simple cooking lesson and ornaments all in one. Use simple sugar icing with a drop of red or green food coloring and ‘paint’ the colors on. Leave a hole for a string to hang it then attach a basic tree hanger to the string.

model magic is a great thing to use with four year olds. It isn’t messy and dries on its own. It also comes in lots of different colors do you could make all kinds of ornaments out of it like: hearts, santas, little christmas trees, birds, flowers etc. Then all you need is some string and a hook and you have an ornament.
you can get model magic at any crafts store and probably even somewhere like walgreens.

A string of popcorn is fun. Make plenty of popcorn, and take a needle and thread and just keep passing the needle through each kernel of popcorn until you have a long enough string to go around the tree. Daughter passes (and eats) the kernels as mom does the stringing, of course!

When I was little I make painted pine cones..you paint them green then paint the tips white to look like snow and sprinkle glitter on them. My mom still has mine and I’m in my 20′s now. also…mix flour and water and salt until you get like a dough then pat it down, but leave it pretty thick. use cookie cutters like bells and santas and cut them out of the dough. let it harden then paint them.
